EPISODE 4 "IN YOUR DREAMS"
BSO to listening "it´s not goodbye" by Laura Pausini
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKsT8w6PXK4
Now what if I never kiss your lips again
or feel the touch of your sweet embrace?
How could I ever go on
without you there´s no place to belong.
Well, someday love is gonna lead you back to me
but till it does, I´ll have an empty heart
so I´ll have to believe
somewhere out there you´re thinking of me
´Till the day I let you go
´till we say our next hello
It´s not goodbye
´till I see you again
I´ll be right here
remembering when
And if time is on our side
there will be no tears to cry
on down the road.
There one thing I can´t deny
It´s not goodbye

MICK: I didn’t know where I was or what was happening around me. I wasn’t even able to feel pain. I just felt an inexplicable feeling that I was suffocating, as if my soul had been torn from my body and I had been left empty.

Joseph's men were preparing to unload two large boxes at the door of an old residence on the outskirts of the city.
Joseph: “I do not understand why you have insisted on coming to this filthy place, you would have been better off in my apartment.” Joseph said while running a hand over a dilapidated piece of furniture, which still had the indelible scars caused by an old fire.
Coraline: “Maybe, but here no one will look for us. Very few people know of the existence of this house. Everyone believes it was destroyed after the fire.”
J: “Yes, seeing its outward appearance it understandable, I guess it's the perfect hideaway. So, tell me how is he?”
C: “We have managed to neutralize the poison and he´s out of danger, but he´s still burning up with fever. I hope he will wake up soon.”
J: “Okay, now are you going to explain me what's going on?”
C: “My family, you know. They are not willing to disclose the secret ... and it seems as though they have decided to declare war on us.”
J: "Oh, I feared something like this would happen. That’s just great! You just had to involve us in your problems this time!" Exclaimed Joseph, lifting his arms, while rocking from side to side. "You realize you've endangered the whole community of vampires in the city for your stupid games!!" He bellowed furiously. "And ... Why in the hell is your family involved in this, what do they care about a human?"
C: “What human?”
J: “Benjamin Talbot, the new District Attorney.”
C: “Talbot?” She asked with a look of surprise.
J: “Yeah, don’t you know him?”
C: "No ... no ... of course not.” But her words left a glimpse of a tone that was not credible. "I guess they need an ally to cover up their crimes and having the district attorney on their side would be an asset. I assure you Lance can be very persuasive."
J: "Yeah ... I'm sure." It was obvious that Coraline knew more than she was telling. "Well I have to warn the others before it’s too late. It would be better if you didn’t leave here for the time being. I’ll leave my men guarding the place ok?”
C: “Ok.”
Just before Josef reached the door, he turned around eyeing the room where Mick rested and he warned her. "Ah! By the way Coraline, be careful what you do with Mick! You’re forbidden to mess with him! Remember he no longer belongs to you." Josef gave a last look around the place and left the house. Outside he gave him men instructions.
The door closed behind Joseph, but the beautiful vampire followed with his eyes fixed on her hinting a disturbing smile while playing with a beautiful and strange pendant around her neck.

Beth arrived home and felt as though she sleepwalking, she couldn’t get the image of Mick out of her mind. The image of him lying on the floor wounded, was tormenting her, and knowing that he was now in Coraline’s hands didn´t help. She knew she would never see him again. All this and the terrible sense of guilt was destroying her. Nothing made sense to her, nothing matter, not even fear. She knew she had to let him go, it was for the best, but now she was not so sure if she could bear his absence.
Now she understood the desperation of Sara and the courage that she had to face the unknown for her love. She would have done the same thing, she would cross any line to have Mick back with her, even if that line was death. But he was no longer with her and a new wall stood between them, one she could not tear down without him.
Beth climbed the stairs of the entrance, and as she did a shadow was watching her from a distance. But she wasn’t aware of anything at that moment, life weighed too heavy on her and danger was the last thing she feared.
She opened the door, and flipped on the light switch, hung her coat on the hanger and flopped down on the living room sofa, totally depressed. And finally tears filled her eyes, soaking her dry soul.

CORALINE: "During these last 23 years I’ve searched for your forgiveness and your love. You cannot know how much I missed you, my sweet love. I've done the craziest things just have you back with me. And now this time, life gives me a new chance to regain your love again, to have you as mine. "
Coraline stroked the perfect face and the naked chest of the young vampire, while Mick, still semiconscious, continued to tremble because of the fever. Through his delirious mind racked with confusing images and flashes at breakneck speed while he groaned words that made no sense.
C: "Awake, my love, awake." The beautiful woman whispered sensually in his ear, stroking her soft fingers against Mick’s trembling lips. "Forget everything, It was all just a dream. I´m with you honey, you are safe with me."

Mick felt the touch of a soft skin, whose freshness was penetrating gradually into each pore of his burning skin. Then, he felt the brush of lips, resting on his, gently, like a caress at first, and then passionately. He was carried away by the memory of a beautiful voice that whispered, distant, in his mind. "My angel… I´ll always love you, always, always." Mick responded to that passion, kissing those lips with a passion almost desperate, meanwhile the delirium of the fever, brought a face into focus, a body into his arms and a name on his lips. “Beth, Beth.”
..............::*&*::................
At the same time…
Beth had fallen asleep, overcome by pain, fatigue, and the hypnotic pill she had taken. The truth was she just wanted to close her eyes and sleep. She was looking to escape in her dreams to calm the cold and the emptiness of not having him with her. Then she suddenly heard a whisper caressing her ears, it was a familiar voice, which sounded distant but so sensual, so sweet, so passionate. ‘Beth… Beth’.
Suddenly, she felt the known touch of the cool, soft hands, which were slowly warming up her skin. Then she felt a fresh breeze on her face, stroking her like an evening breeze, and the touch of lips that rested gently on hers, searching for the treasure of passion which was hidden in her, waiting for him. And the desire began to burn her inside, while those soft male hands traveled over her body, drawing a thousand passion roads, awakening her sleeping desire, hidden in the memory of her skin. She responded with the same desperation she had just hours ago, when she had to tell him goodbye. "Mick ... my love ... you’ve come back to me ... I love you my angel, I love you so much."

Meanwhile on the other side of town
"Beth I need you so ... I love you, I feel your skin on my skin... your lips on my lips...I need you desperately." Mick felt those warm kisses on his lips and it was burning his skin more and more. But at the same time he needed to get lost in them, needed to get lost in that body and those sweet lips. In his mind the memory of that perfume, that scent could only belong to one woman...Beth. And little by little he let the warmth envelop his body, the smoothness of that juicy mouth, the delicious fragrance that emanated from that soft skin and the sensual moan of that voice, while he could feel her body trembling into his arms. "My love, never leave me, baby, because I can’t live without you." He whispered as his lips touched hers with an infinite tenderness. "I love you, Beth, I’ll love you forever." And both were merged into one, feeling, surrendering and loving each other in the middle of nowhere.
Immediately after of that
The sound of another voice brought him back. He opened his eyes to an unexpected reality.
Coraline: "Will you love me forever? Forever? "

Meanwhile…
Beth felt herself dying of pleasure while her heart beat wildly. Suddenly a strange noise came from the terrace causing her to wake up. She opened her eyes, but he was gone, there was no one ... and her arms and her bed were still empty. Suddenly, the magic was broken and her dream faded.
The balcony door suddenly flew open and a cold wind penetrated the room. Beth tried to stand up, but a strange and sudden dizziness, prevented her. Her body was heavy, she barely had the strength to stand, and she felt numb while a cold sweat was covered her body.
With the help of furniture, she made her way to the balcony and closed the door. Then suddenly she had a strong feeling of thirst, but when she tried to take the first step toward the kitchen, everything went dark and she passed out.
When Mick opened his eyes, he seemed to be in the middle of a dream, or maybe it was a macabre nightmare which was torturing his mind. It was as if time had been turned back and had stopped at a dark moment.
Before his eyes was the very same room that was the scene of a night of love 55 years ago and lying on him, her head resting on his chest, there was the woman who turned his life into hell, Coraline.
Mick looked at her in astonishment, as if seeing a ghost that could not be real. She was the same woman and he was in the same room, on the same bed. What kind of macabre game was this? It was like when he woke up in darkness and yet everything was so different.
At that moment, she opened her eyes and looked at him with the tenderness of a woman in love, something he had never seen in her before. She was always so cold and sometimes cruel, and he felt so strange, so confused when he looked into her eyes, dark like the night, deep like the sea and sweet like honey. There was a scent in the air, it was sweet, deep and delicious. He knew that but he could not remember why. He was sure that perfume didn´t belong to her and yet he could smell it on her...Why? Where had it come from?
M: “What ... what happened?” He asked amid the most terrible bewilderment, as he glanced around him.
C: “Ummm. I guess we fell asleep after...you know…” She said as she slowly lowered her to mouth to kiss him. It was incredible...I love you.”
The young man could not stop looking at her absolutely amazed. His mind must be playing tricks on him he thought, begging for it fade anytime. Then, he tried to sit up on the bed and instinctively he brought his hand to his neck to see if he could find some evidence. At that moment he could not be sure about what was the truth or not. All this was driving him crazy.
C: “Is something wrong? Are you ok, honey? A moment ago you were vowing your eternal love me, and now you seem not to know who I am. You’re scaring me.”
M: “What? But that cannot be ... Where ... where is she?” He scream looking at his hands that were empty.
C: “She? Who is she?” The woman asked, somewhat annoyed.
Mick tried to pronounce a name but his mind was blank. And for an instant her lips drew a strange smile.

Meanwhile, Beth's apartment
Everything was completely silent as she lay unconscious in the doorway of the terrace. But she was not alone. Beside her, a dark figure was crouched next to her, watching her like an animal observes its prey, and then his gloved hand hid something in a bag.
The intruder who never took his eyes off the girl, extended his gloved hand to the bare neck of the young woman seeing if she was still alive and making the gesture of silence. "shhhh" And he disappeared.
Moments later, a cell phone started ringing.

Back in his office, Joseph was finalizing details for an emergency meeting. The situation was serious and urgent action was needed. He knew enough about Lance and his family to know that they were able to carry out their threat, and with Talbot sniffing around, it was better not to take risks.
But there was still another problem. What threat were they to his community? It was obvious he could not make things worse with the cure topic, nor could he risk having the community execute Coraline, for it would endanger their safety. Nor could he give her to her family to take revenge on her for her betrayal. After all Coraline was the only one who seemed to know how to deal with her family and maybe she was the only person able to save Mick at that moment. She knew all about poisons and antidotes, so, if she couldn’t, no one could. On the other hand, maybe he should alert Beth about Lance.
Right then, someone interrupted his thoughts
“Sir, I have done what you asked me to, but I was unable to locating Sir William Gassol and Sir Logan Griffen. Their phones are disconnected and I´m afraid that no one in the Morgue knows anything about Mr. Gassol. He left two or three hours ago.”
“Damn it! Do you know where Logan lives?”
“Yes sir, I remember Mr. St. John gave his address to me.”
“Ok, so send someone to check it out. Quick!”
Josef’s obedient butler went out the door ready to fulfill the mandate of his lord. Meanwhile, Joseph turned to the huge windows overlooking the avenue. A faint orange light indicated that dawn would begin very soon. Maybe there will be no evening for them this day.
Suddenly a strong odor of decomposition filled the room, his old vampire instincts warned him that he was not alone and a familiar voice sounded behind him. “It is useless to insist, Dominique, you know they will not appear.

MICK: Sometimes the mind plays tricks on you, and when you're crossing the worst of deserts and you feel like you’re ready to faint, it lets you touch a dream, quench your thirst with the cool water of an oasis and then, you discover that there is but the cruel shadow of a mirage, the fruit of your own madness.
C: "It's incredible! We were just married and you have all ready begun to be unfaithful to me in your dreams" Exclaimed the young woman with a look of mock anger. "I should be angry with you." She whispered while her lips roamed over his face and chest. And Mick looked increasingly confused, like he was living some kind of hallucination.
M: “But ... this cannot be real ...I have to…”
C: Shhhh! Don’t say anything, just love me one more time.” She whispered against his mouth, brushing his lips sensually with her lips.
That voice, that skin so warm. That familiar scent, that closeness so well known, clouded his senses. He felt strangely caught, wrapped in a kind of stupor. Sensations that were so familiar and yet so different from those he kept in his soul. Then the drug made him close his eyes again and his body surrendered while his mind, numb, was fighting to find in the sea of forgetfulness, the lost memory of a woman.

Joseph closed his eyes and inhaled the familiar smell. "Lance.” He confirmed in a quiet voice while he turned around slowly.
The intruder responded with a chivalrous gesture giving Josef a nod. And then he said. “Well, well ... I see that life has treated you well ... Dominique… or should I say Joseph?” Lance asked him wryly as he walked slowly through the immense hall toward him.
J: “Why have you come back?”
L: “Come on! What kind of reception is this for an old friend? I guess all this time has made you forget old favors.”
J:” Favors? Do you consider this a favor?” Josef exclaimed angrily, while showing a list of names.
L: "Ah! I see. Well I wouldn’t worry too much." He replied with an indolent tone. "Your existence remains a mystery. To Benjamin Talbot, it was only the list of potential white collar criminals. He has no proof against them for now, but that secret depends of you and St John and how much you are willing to cooperate, of course.”
J: “What are you talking about?” Joseph could not believe what he was hearing.
L: If there is something you know that might be useful to me, use your sense of discretion. He said as he sat in one of the black leather armchairs on the side of the elegant boardroom table. "And to show you good will, which is invaluable in these times, and by the bond that once united us, I will give you and your people a chance before I something...shall we say, more drastic. All you have to do is keep your dear friend under control.
J: “Mick also knows how to keep secrets. He is not going to say something, I promise.”
L: Maybe, but I´m afraid that love can cloud his mind too often. He does not act like a vampire, he thinks like a human and that's dangerous. I’m not willing to take risks, I want him away from that mortal woman, you know, love and curiosity are not good partners.”
J: "Beth? What about her?" Joseph asked, surprised by such an absurd request.
L: "Nothing!" Lance exclaimed scornfully "And that's precisely the point. Let's say it's a family affair. Mick is now part of the family, thanks to Coraline, and ... let's just say I have orders to look after the family interests. We want no more strangers in the family, that's all. Keep him away from that woman and no one else will get hurt.
J: "And what about William and Logan?" Joseph asked him while he was chomping at the bit.
L: “They will be our guest while you make up your mind about this. If he does, they will return safe and sound, just with a small memory loss. You know what I mean." He said as he tilted his head slightly. "Otherwise...I´m afraid I cannot help them." He groaned with a look of mock sadness and then he smiled with cruelty, showing his fangs.
J: “I don’t think Mick is willing to accept your terms.”
L: “Ah, l'amour, l'amour! It is sometimes so complicated and selfish n'est-ce pas?” He exclaimed sarcastically and then added with a menacing look. “ I'm afraid he has no choice. If he doesn’t, it will trigger a silent war and one by one, all of you will die, starting with his beloved mortal and his two friends.” Then he stood up with parsimony. "Just a little advice, try to convince him, you know that patience is not one of my virtues.” He said in a dry tone. “You have until the next dawn. It's my last word." He said, fixing his cold stare into the eyes of Joseph and then he proceeded to retreat elegantly.
J: "Maybe you should have given me this advice before trying to kill Mick, don’t you think?" Joseph asked, slightly raising the tone and clenching his fists in an effort to keep under control his anger.
L: "Oh! Mick is wounded?" He asked, turning back to his interlocutor with a grotesque mask of tragedy in his expression. "Well ... I would say that someone does not want to waste time.” He said gently stroking the pearl head of his walking stick, and again showed a cynical smile.
J: “What do you mean? Who is this someone?”
L:" Well look on the bright side, it will make your job even easier. You will not have to convince him if he is out of commission. After all, it’s good to have a change of scenery, don´t you think? ... Hahahaha" And Lance disappeared before Josef’s eyes leaving him speechless and with a doubt in the air.
The intruder responded with a chivalrous gesture giving Josef a nod. And then he said. “Well, well ... I see that life has treated you well ... Dominique… or should I say Joseph?” Lance asked him wryly as he walked slowly through the immense hall toward him.

MICK: I've often wondered if it really is fate that rules our lives, or are there others with their actions, those who determine our future and their own.
Some people have that power, they are able to destroy everything in search of an illusion, a mirage, something they call it love, although it will leave lost pieces of their lives.

Coraline observed Mick from the doorway. He was still resting, but now he seemed uneasy. It was probably the potion that was beginning to wear off and its effects would end soon. However, it was too early, she needed more time, she had to get him out from there and keep him as far away from Beth as possible, before he woke up. Then, she noticed that the old wound in her arm started bleeding. Time was against her and there was no turning back.

MICK: My mind was totally confused with lots of images racing through my head, as I tried to find a way to the light. And suddenly, memories and faces began to emerge, breaking out like a flash, whispering to me isolated sentences trying to wake up my sleeping memory. They were like lightning, illuminating gradually the shadows of oblivion.
And all at once, his mind drew a face, a blue gaze, a loved smile and a perfume that filled all of his senses. And the vampire eyes opened to reality, while his mouth was whispering a name. "BETH."

Meanwhile, Beth's apartment.
A moan upon the wind left a name ringing in her ears. “Beth, Beth ...”
B: "My love ..." She whispered as she slowly opened her eyes. And she woke up from this strange slumber hearing someone pounding on the apartment door.
